There seems to me to be 3 types of atheists when it comes to the level of outwardness in regards to their lack of belief. First, there are those that avoid arguments altogether, even if confronted. Secondly, there are those that, when confronted, will stand up for their beliefs/lack of belief and argue back. And finally, the category I tend to fall into is those that actively seek out debate. These are the people that love to argue for the sake of arguing - and to win.
There are many places to argue for atheism - the internet, school, with friends, etc. I myself typically argue on the internet and with friends. I recently came across an excellent site that is perfect for these verbal battles. With a name that suits its purpose, VerbalBattle.com is a great forum to share with people a piece of your mind.
You may be wondering, “what’s so special about this forum” and it’s a good question with a good answer. Most forums enjoy restricting you as to what you may say - even debate forums and other sites. This often leads to deleted posts and bans. This forum is unique in that it is an uncensored debate forum. Say what you want, when you want without worrying about political correctness or all of that nonsense.
As atheists I feel that we love the logic side of things and many of us are great debaters. We enjoy analyzing and tearing down an argument. A few on the other hand may still tend to enjoy having an emotionally charged “debate.” So it’s natural to assume that some of you may think, “oh no, what if it gets out of hand.” Well, really - what danger does that put anyone in? As Verbal Battle’s slogan states: it’s better to fight with words, not with guns.
So whether you’re looking for an intelligent debate or just want to flame some christians (hopefully the former), then verbalbattle.com is the place for you.
Hope to see you on the forum!
Before you go: leave a comment and let me know what type of atheist you are!

In short; no. I don’t debate religion, because in short I don’t believe there is anything to be gained there.
Religious people are religious despite of the huge amount of arguments against it. They’re not new to those argument, they haven’t missed them, they’ve simply chosen to maintain their belief anyway.
Unless someone is actually open for the possibility of being wrong I see little to no point debating with them.

Loptr, they do debate many other things beside religion. Religion is actually one of the smallest boards there, literally every topic you can imagine is discussed. You should check it out.

I’m a number two. I don’t actively seek it out because I can’t really tolerate the other sides arguments. If I expect them to listen to me, I have to listen to them. Some have a tendency to blather relentlessly.
I have two fundi christian best friends and I’ve heard all I want to about the bible.
Nice blog btw. I follow.

It’s funny, but I think these three types of atheists fit into just about every religion.
But really, who’s to say who’s right or wrong? It’s silly. Belifs are intangible, so obviously can’t be proven. I think being able to respect that different people believe different things can really say a lot about someone’s character and their own beliefs.

I am the second type. I orginally started as the third, however I learned quickly that people are slow to admit they are wrong no matter how bad you castigate out of fear they have wasted their entire lives.
